Patti Smith

February 27, 2008

I have been following Patti Smith since 1978 when I first saw her on Bob Dylan’s birthday over at the old Pallidium…I was very young then…fourteen years old…I get the set list that night and I have been getting them ever since. During those times I was in private highs school with a lot of assholes who made my life hell. Patti was a way out. She represented authenticity. Her words bought me another universe.. a universe that was far realer than the one I was in. To put on Horses was to transported to this magical place. And from that time I have never lost that sensation when I hear Patti but especially when I am at her shows. Here is a video I made from shots I took of her at the Beacon back in the fall of 2007.
